SIAMS & Ofsted
SIAMS
SIAMS is the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools. All church schools will undergo this inspection which is scheduled every five years. Inspectors grade the school according to how effective the school’s distinctive Christian vision is established and promoted by leadership at all levels, in enabling pupils and adults to flourish.
One overall grade is awarded reflecting the contribution of these strands to the flourishing of pupils and adults in a Church School. In addition, a standalone grade is awarded in all schools for Collective Worship.
We are delighted to tell you that we received an overall grade of Good, and the impact of Collective Worship was also judged to be Good. The inspection framework is rigorous and challenging, so we are very pleased with this outcome. The report reflects the rapid journey of improvement the school is on and how the Christian vision is effective in shining light onto the next steps of that journey
Ofsted
The school was last inspected by Ofsted in June 2022. The report highlights areas for improvement but also identifies many elements of good provision particularly in the areas of Personal Development and Behaviour and Attitudes, which were both graded as ‘Good’.
Inspectors found that pupils enjoy coming to this nurturing and inclusive school where leaders and teachers want the best for the pupils and help them to succeed.
Ofsted said that Leaders have high expectations of behaviour. Pupils feel safe and bullying is rare.
Ofsted also identified that Leaders are keen to promote and nurture pupils’ love of reading. They provide plentiful opportunities for pupils to read for pleasure.
The report recognises that pupils throughout the school, including in the early years, behave very well. They are thoughtful towards others and try their best at all times and that staff identify and provide for the pastoral and wider needs of pupils with SEND.
We are working hard on the recommendations and look forward to sharing this work when we are next inspected.
