OFSTED & SIAMS
Ofsted
On 7th & 8th January 2025 we welcomed a team of Ofsted inspectors for a full two-day inspection. The inspectors were extremely complimentary throughout the inspection and have graded Winslow CE School as 'Good' in all areas.
Highlights of the Ofsted Report include:
- Pupils enjoy shining brightly as learners. They benefit from the school’s high ambitions and expectations.
- The school is a happy place to be. Pupils feel safe and that staff know them well.
- There is a clear ambition for all pupils to achieve well. Across all subjects, the school has now established the most important knowledge pupils need to know and remember.
- The school prioritises developing pupils’ knowledge so that they can read, write and use key mathematical facts confidently. This begins in the early years where pupils make a strong start.
- The school considers pupils’ personal development carefully. Pastoral support in the school is very strong, especially for the number of pupils who are young carers.
- The school continues to improve standards in all areas of its work and embed the necessary changes made.
- Everyone works well together to make sure that changes impact positively on pupils.
I am incredibly proud that the hard work undertaken by everyone at Winslow CE School has been officially recognised and that our wonderful pupils now have yet another reason to be proud of our learning community. The inspection team noted staff are positive about the school, the journey of improvement and the way that they are looked after and supported.
The full report is available below and is also on the Ofsted website.
SIAMS
SIAMS is the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools. All church schools will undergo this inspection which is scheduled every five years. Inspectors grade the school according to how effective the school’s distinctive Christian vision is established and promoted by leadership at all levels, in enabling pupils and adults to flourish.
One overall grade is awarded reflecting the contribution of these strands to the flourishing of pupils and adults in a Church School. In addition, a standalone grade is awarded in all schools for Collective Worship.
We are delighted to tell you that we received an overall grade of Good, and the impact of Collective Worship was also judged to be Good. The inspection framework is rigorous and challenging, so we are very pleased with this outcome. The report reflects the rapid journey of improvement the school is on and how the Christian vision is effective in shining light onto the next steps of that journey.
